Connect a Game Controller
Rally Co-Pilot can start and stop a special stage from a PlayStation or Xbox controller — a reliable, glove-friendly remote you can mount on the dashboard. This guide shows how to pair one and which buttons to use.
- iPhone with Rally Co-Pilot
- PlayStation or Xbox controller
- Bluetooth switched on
Which button does what
Open a stage in Rally Co-Pilot and you can run the timing from the controller — three buttons are all you need.
Start the stage
A / CrossStarts the highlighted stage — the one marked “Next”.
Stop the stage
B / CircleStops the stage that is currently running.
Choose the next stage
D-pad up / downMoves the highlight so you decide which stage starts next.
Turn it on first: Settings → Accessories → Remote Start → Use game controller
Pairing the controller
The controller connects to iOS itself, not to the app — pair it once in Bluetooth settings and Rally Co-Pilot picks it up.
PlayStation (DualSense / DualShock 4)
- 1Turn the controller off. Hold the PS button and the Create (or Share) button together until the light bar starts flashing.
- 2On your iPhone open Settings → Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
- 3Tap the controller under Other Devices to connect. The light bar turns solid once paired.
Xbox Wireless Controller
- 1Turn the controller on with the Xbox button, then hold the Pair button on top until the Xbox button flashes quickly.
- 2On your iPhone open Settings → Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
- 3Tap the controller under Other Devices to connect.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I press a button
Make sure the controller is connected in iOS Settings → Bluetooth (not just powered on), that “Use game controller” is enabled in the app, and that you have a stage open. If it still doesn't respond, reconnect the controller and reopen the stage.
Which controllers are supported?
Any controller iOS supports natively works: the PlayStation DualSense and DualShock 4, and Xbox Wireless Controllers with Bluetooth. Button names follow the platform — A on Xbox is the same button as Cross on PlayStation.
Which buttons does Rally Co-Pilot use?
Only three: A / Cross starts the highlighted stage, B / Circle stops a running stage, and D-pad up / down moves the highlight. Every other button is ignored, so you can't trigger anything by accident.
