Description

Classic-car rally covering 14,000 km from Hamburg to Shanghai along the legendary Silk Road. Over 57 days the participants cross 12 countries — from Germany through the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to China. Highlights include Istanbul, the Caucasus, the Silk Road pearls Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand, the Taklamakan and Gobi deserts, the Great Wall and the imperial cities of Xi'an and Luoyang. A group of 10 to 16 vintage car teams travels with a rally leader, local guides and a mechanic with service car, staying in 3- to 5-star hotels plus one night in a traditional tea house.
