Average speed table

Also: Speed table, Time table, Regularity table

A table that shows, for a given average speed, when you should reach each distance.

An average speed table shows, for a given average speed, how long it should take to reach each distance. It saves you doing maths while driving.

What it looks like

A simple table for 48 km/h:

DistanceTarget time
0.1 km0:07.5
0.5 km0:37.5
1.0 km1:15.0
2.0 km2:30.0

The co-driver reads the odometer, finds the distance in the table and compares the target time with the stopwatch. If the clock is ahead of the table, you are running slow.

Your own or the organiser's

Some organisers include tables in the roadbook, often for each test and each speed change. Many crews prepare their own, for example in 100 metre steps. The finer the steps, the more precisely you can correct.

On the iPhone

With the AI roadbook scanner in Rally Co-Pilot you photograph a table page, and the app turns it into sections with distance and target speed that you review before importing. The guide shows how to read and build tables.
