Time card

Also: Control card, Route card

The time card is the document where marshals record your times and controls. Without it you cannot be scored.

The time card is the document where all times and controls of your leg are recorded. It travels in the car and you hand it in at the end.

What is on it

The card shows your start number, the controls of the leg and boxes for times, stamps or signatures. At each time control the marshal writes your arrival time. At passage controls and stamp controls you get a mark or a stamp.

Why it matters

The time card is the basis for the results. A missing entry costs, depending on the regulations, penalty points. Losing the card can lead to exclusion. Making your own corrections is almost always forbidden.

Tips for the co-driver

  • Keep the card in the same place all the time, for example in a clear plastic sleeve.
  • After each control, work out the due time for the next one straight away and note it separately.
  • Check the entry before you drive off. A marshal's writing mistake is easiest to sort out on the spot.

At events with GPS timing the time card is sometimes shorter, but it rarely disappears completely.
